****** in the store and nobody wanted to help!
My aunty was shopping in Galleria Checkers. While she was busy paying. Someone put they hand in her bag and snatched her S4 Samsung. She went to the manager and asked if someone could please assist her and check the cameras so they could identify the suspect and shockingly they refused to go back into the footage. It's so appalling that even while shopping we are not safe! We've tried everything, calling the service provider etc and they asked why didn't we ask for assistance. But we did and didn't get any. Please beware. You're not safe even in checkers!

On behalf of the Checkers supermarket chain, I would like to empathise with the unfortunate loss of your aunt's mobile phone.
Checkers endeavours to provide a safe shopping experience for all its customers as far as it is reasonably possible to do so, but we are unfortunately not in a position to take responsibility for personal belongings of members of the public. Checkers unfortunately does not allow members of the public into its camera rooms in line with security protocols but will gladly assist the SAPS in any investigation. However, the manner in which your aunt was assisted in store will be brought to the attention of the Divisional Office for further investigation. One of our representatives will be in contact with you shortly.
Unfortunately we cannot reverse the unpleasant incident but I can assure you that we constantly review our security procedures in order to make amendments where necessary.
