****ROACHES ON FOOD IN DIRTY SHAMELESS CHECKERS

I visited this store Checkers Oceana Mall Umhlanga KZN, 21.04.2024 at 4pm. I was at the warm foods dept, to purchase fried fish, only to my extreme horror, a huge ****roach was feasting on foods, and merrily crawled over the fish, chicken, chips, etc. I told the shop assistant, a male, and he was shocked, and his female colleague, stood by shrugged her shoulders, unphased. Consumers, DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PERISHABLES, FROM CHECKERS, ESPECIALLY, READY TO EAT FOODSTUFF, INCLUDING BAKED GOODS. A huge chain store that clearly does not comply with cleanliness and hygienic practices. It's disgusting Checkers, how your staff have a don't care attitude, and I stood afar back minutes later, the pieces if chicken, fish, etc, were still up for sale. Neither of those 2 assistants, bothered to dispose of those items. I dread to think of consumers, who would have purchased these items, and most likely gotten sick. How many germs and sicknesses these pests carry. If this store in an upmarket zone can conduct such pathetic business standards, how much less, the Shoprite stores must carry out.
