Returning a broken iron

I bought a Phillips iron a year and a half ago from checkers. It broke. The iron was clearly marked as having a two year garantee.

I attempted to return the iron to the checkes hyper at centurion lake mall. The Non Perishable goods manager Roan Taljaard refused to take any action on the iron and stated checkers on honors the first year of the garantee and that I should take it up with Phillips. I called the Checkers customer care line and they stated the same and gave me a number for Phillips to call.

Phillips stated the Iron does have a two year garantee. and that checkers must honor the garantee as per their agreement with checkers. The gave me the number/email for Marleen Pinn at the checkers buying department. I called her and she stated that Checkers would definatly replace the iron and I should go in and that the iron will be replaced. If there is problem the manager at checkers should please contact Carel Smit the buyer responsible for the Irons.

I went to the store, Roan Taljaard yet again refused to replace the Iron and refused to contact the buyer.

I contected the Marlene Pinn again and she contacted the manager. She called me to tell me the manager stated that I should go to the customer service counter and the iron would be replaced.

When I went back to the store Roan yet again refused to replace the Iron.

I contacted Marlene again she stated tha I should just ask Roan to call her

So how can this issue be resolved?
