Rather buy meat at your local butcher than at Checkers

During our recent visit to Checkers Hyper at Menlyn Mall we decided to purchase meat as well as we did not want to drive some kilometers further to a butchery. This was a big mistake. From the prepacked chops only the chops on top was of acceptable quality. The chops underneath were of poor quality and and the thickness varied from paper thin to very thick. The lean beef mince was very fatty once cooked. The Championship boerewors did not taste like championship quality - they should contact my local butcher for a recipe. On a previous visit to Pretoria we wanted to cook a curry stew and as my daughter was about to place an order on the Sixty Sixty app, she included stewing mutton on the order. When it arrived it was more fat and bones rather than meat. We had to drive to the butchery a few kilometers away buy proper meat. I will never buy any meat a Checkers Butchery again.
