Poor service, promises broken
So Checkers is advertising a Bush Baby beach shelter on special for R249. Went last weekend to the Checkers Hyper in Bay West Mall, Port Elizabeth. It took us 45 minutes to try and ascertain where to find it in the store as there are no assistants anywhere to be found. There are no prices on the shelves, the camping equipment area, on a mezzanine, is an absolute joke as everything is randomly thrown all over. We eventually found a Bush Baby shelter that is identical to the one advertised and went to pay for it. Surprise, surprise, the shelter rang up as R699. The cashier then called a supervisor, who disappeared into the store, with a queue forming behind us and angry glances from those waiting. At least 15 minutes passed and we eventually rang up our other purchases and stood aside so the queue could progress. Another 10 minutes passed and the supervisor came back to inform us the stock had not arrived yet! No worries she said, the manager would call us and they would keep one aside for us. Well, its 4 days before Christmas and we are still waiting for the call! Pathetic service!
