Poor Customer Service for the Disabled Customers by Checkers Hyper,Rylands Village
I am writing to complain about the disability till at Checkers Rylands Village. I have complained several times regarding us with disabilities have to sit in our wheelchair and wait whilist able bodied persons just use this till and no preference is given to us. I spoke to a manager at Checkers to complain that I've complained several times that the board is put up is marked " disabled " . My past complaints was just plainly ignored by the management. They give you a hearing and promise to make it right when all they do is ****. Checkers do you staff and its management are ***** or do they and Checkers Board Dr Christo Wiese and CEO employ people without integrity. If you put in effort to help and serve your customers you will in return get more customers but if as the saying "garbage in garbage out". I wanted to get the Regional Managers details to take up this complaint but the store manager Mr Anwar Esau called the Regional Manager Mr F. Roux who indicated that the till area was for all patrons. To me if the sign says disabled then it's meant for the disabled customers and not for able bodied customers. Dont lie and say that the area is wider when it's the same size as the other till areas. Your 10 or less items is meant for that and customers who come with a full trolley are told to use the normal till points. Kindly visit Pick and Pay Norwood Village in which they have areas marked for the elderly and disabled and any young able bodied customers are told in no uncertain terms they will not be served as the till points was created as its marked and the able bodied or younger customers must use the normal till points. This is a form of ************** against disabled persons. Our community and these Mall/ Shopping Malls must join in promoting the rights of people with disabilities and building a more accessible, more inclusive community. Our buying power is strong and maybe call on persons with disability to boycott Checkers and Checkers Hyper. The South African Human Rights Commission will be informed of this ************** and laissez-faire latitude taking by your Regional Manager. It's the festive season show some concern over the festivities. A little advice for you to carry over to your staff."You may not be able to influence the weather or control your competitors, but the level of service you provide is completely within your control. That’s why you should always be cooking up ways to wow your shoppers.Good customer service means meeting your customers’ needs in a timely, efficient, and pleasant way. Customer service can mean many things, depending on the environment. In retail, it could entail directing shoppers to the right part of the store or assisting them with a product issue." Please address this with Mr F. Roux.
