Poor customer service

Terrible experience at Checkers Sun Valley today.Myself and my husband went into the store just for a few goods and went to the first queue available which is the very first till at the entrance when we eventually got to the cashier she looks at us without greeting and said only 10 items allowed she then grunted and said you can come rather irritated with us....we literally had bread and drinks and 4 clothing items but as we had 5 breads and the drink combo of 4 drinks they felt the n3ed to penalize us for this...i then proceedee to pavk my own goods and then arrives the front end controller with another cashier who needed to take over ...not to mention all of them standing chatting away.This controller Lindeli young gentleman with short dreads and specs without greeting us says once again you only allowe 10 items and my husband explained to him we would not have come to the till if we saw the sign saying it was 1p or less items. The sign is so high up that you literally need to walk with your head in the air to see the sign..My husband politely asked him if he walks with his head in the air and he says yes if i have to....obviously he would say yes cause he works in the store and knows what yo expect...he then continue saying the cashier cant still pack our goods to which i answered i packed it myself...to top oy off there was no queue and no one waiting for the cashier...the expectation is for the cashier to stand there doing nothing instead of trying to get their customers out of the store and providing good customer services...This guy shouldnt be a controller he has No customer services etiquette at all and until he knows how to treat customers he shouldnt represent checkers at all along with the cashier that helped us ...Go back to basics and stop making your clients feel like idiots
