Pary broken on platinum mist fan

Hi, my mum did buy a platinum mist fan from checkers but i lost my slip, i understand that i cannot return if no slip but the water tank is faulty and they cannot assist me with getting new water ank, does this mean that if a part breaks for a fan its as good as useless because they dont keep parts
