Off food twice

My first incident with off food was chicken that I bought, it was rotten. The manager got back to me and helped me very efficiently and made me re consider shopping at Checkers. Second incident I bought a mutton curry pie, it was off, sour and stank out my whole office area. I phoned checkers and spoke to a Manager which told me to come in for a refund. when i got there the next day she was busy and another lady helped me, first asking me what i would like for my R14, so i said my money back. Then about a week later the store manager fones me, the manner in which he dealt with this was really poor. He told me that mutton has a strong smell and that he had gone and opened 2 pies which were fine and they wasted. I have looked on hello peter and VROT food and attitude had been complained about a few times. I will not eat a thing from checkers or ever put my foot there again. I wont risk eating another off item from their store. This is disgusting and then management talks to you like you lying or at fault cause i was asked to send the slip so they can see the time frame. REALLy??? POOR STANDARDS!!!! I Have mailed customer service but do not want contact with this store!
