Off cold chicken delivered

Order grilled chicken, chicken brought with checkers 60, it was smelly off and it was cold I was told that there’s nothing that can be done There after I spoke to the branch manager who arrange for fresh grilled chickens to be delivered Why was old off cold chickens delivered in the first place
