No return of goods policy
Goodday
My daughters received Scututu bikes as xmas gifts from their grandparents. After driving the one bike for the second time the front wheel split in half. We tried to return it to the store however they refused to return it as we had no till slip. Firstly it was a gift. The bike still has the Checkers barcode attached. (which means we could have only bought it there)
The manager (van der Linde) did not even look at the bike to check the damage or the condition of the bike. I feel in circumstances like these there are exceptions to the rule. It was not a toy of R50, however a bike of R399. It is clear that the bike belongs to Checkers Hyper (and PE only has one Hyper store). The condition is brand new. The wheel is totally damaged. So in essence, I am sure the store can bend the rule a little bit.
I am disgusted in the service including the manager who did not even consider these options. He just looked our way and told his employee to tell us no.
What type of customer service is that?
Please respond as I will not leave this situation like this. How do you tell a 4 year old that her bike of a month old cannot be used??
