NO REPLACEMENT BATTERY AVAILABLE FOR STK CELL PHONES

I purchased a STK SYNC5Z cell phone from Checkers Scottsville in Pietermaritzburg on 5/5/2017. The battery for this phone is stone dead and will not recharge. I need to replace the battery. I am surprised as well that this battery has only lasted 9 months? I contacted the same Checkers store this morning and was advised that they do not stock the batteries for this phone. I was advised to contact their customer help line, which I did. I was told by their consultant to go to any cell phone shop and purchase a battery. it is shows how ********/uninformed she is as Checkers and Ackermans are the only agents for the STK phone in South Africa and Ackermans does not stock the batteries either. My question is, how can they promote and sell sell the phones and yet they have no idea on where to buy a replacement battery???? What happens then when the battery is dead-do I then have to throw the phone away? It seems like it. Why is checkers not informing customers that purchase these phones that they cannot supply batteries? So it is my view that STK cell phones are then deemed to be a disposable item and I demand that Checkers be honest and forthcoming and make this fact known to their customers.
