MY HEART SINKS

Checkers Kloof Street Gardens Cape Town is my nearest Supermarket. But I often end up walking down to woolies for sanity or making the drive to pick n pay. heres why. I've mistakenly raised my concerns to the Managers . They seem either not to care or not to be able to do anything. My problems are : 1. Getting the staff in the Deli section to be interested in me as a customer ( not neccessarily as a human I can understand that) This morning I surveyed about 8 of deli staff blythly ignoring me as I stood there for a couple of minutes. I then had to take out my cellphone and pretend to film my experience with a sardonic commentary before someone came moseying along. 2. After repeatedly asking for and designing a queue system for the deli area to the various managers, I still have to endure waiting as per no 1 and then being trumped by an offside late arrival who the staff quite happily serve first without even bothering to ask or try and see who was possibly next in 'line' if you could call it a line. The most 'un deli ever'. Sadness is though, that there are a couple of staff members who really care? 3. Staff who walk into you or barge over you- maybe because I'm not as young anymore, but my goodness it just seems as though they have a total unawareness of the visitors in their shop - again there are some wonderful exceptions. 4. 5 litre water provision. 1stly when they get these 5 litre containers in at all which hasnt been since last Thursday apparently, there quota is 20.... yes 20 per customer . Result is that they are all gone in half an hour by people who are hoarding. The brand Manager based at Brackenfeel Adele Taljaard when i spoke to her about this wouldn't answer my question why they give out so many and not just 2 per customer so everyone can get something . Instead she regaled me with assurances that they are diverting stocks sent to other provinces and that this store would be receiving plenty of these items. Not true so far. If she means 1 litre bottles ...well am I to believe that the 5 liter option is just not being considered because its more lucrative for Shoprite to sell 1 and 1,5 litre bottles at this store. If so that's as callous as getting rid of the 5 litres as quickly as possible. Come on checkers/shoprite be more customer aware.
