Montana Checkers - Poor customer relations.

On Tuesday late afternoon, 07 December, I went to the "nice" new Montana Checkers to buy some meat for a braai on Wednesday afternoon. This was for a year-end braai at my place for me and 3 colleagues. We left work a bit early. When I got home, I lit the fire, offered drinks and proceeded with preparing the meat. When I opened the lamb chops to spice it, it stank. The smell was terrible. I was very embarrassed, but I put the meat in a big lock seal bag in the chest freezer and took out frozen meat and started defrosting in order to save the day. Today, 09 December, I took the meat back to Checkers., I did not say much, but the lady that helped me took the meat, smelled it and went behind the counter. She returned, pressed R137,10 in my hand and said, "I am sorry for your inconvenience". I said nothing and just left as I was not in the mood for conflict (Hang-over from the braai). The "sorry" definitely did not compensate me for the fuel that I used to returned the meat and the embarrassment. I did not return the meat to try and get half a lamb for free from them. However, I would have felt better If they offered me some fresh meat (maybe a bit more than what I returned to compensate for my fuel and inconvenience). My advise is that you rather avoid buying meat there or smell it before you buy. Very poor for a company that wants to challenge Woolworths (and Food*****'s around the corner)

Thank you.
