Meat expired but apparently still edible

my sister, her 7 year old daughter and i went to buy wors at checkers. but the sell by date was the day before. we asked the butcher manager if she can take it down because it has expired so she did but as soon as we walked away she put everything back on the shelf. so we went to the store manager and told him what happened and he was very rude saying that the meat is still edible. so when we asked him what will happen if my sisters kids get food poisoning he said its not his problem its a chance we have to take. that in my opinion is very disgusting and not healthy. my little 7 year old niece also saw the butchery staff walk through the store with a dead *** that was cut open but still had the head and everything. they didnt even cover it!! now she refuses to eat meat and starts crying everytime she sees a *** or a piece of meat. its disgraceful checkers!!
