Mango Booking

On 27 February 2015, I stood in the line for 20 minutes to purchase an mango airline ticket. When it was my turn, I was duly informed that my drivers licence can not be used for the booking. I queried this since the airline accepts the drivers licence. I was then informed that they been the front line, they need the ID, then the airline as the secondary point can accept the Drivers licence. I pointed out that this is bizarre since I can make a booking with mango over the internet then collect it from them with my driver's licence. Ofcourse my submissions were not explained but still, I was not allowed to purchase the ticket. So I did it over the internet and the 30 minutes I spent, I will never recover. I will never use a money market service again due to the poorly trained staff.

Hello W1ll1am,

Thank you for taking the time to contact the Checkers supermarket chain about your bad experience at Checkers Windermere.

When purchasing an air ticket at a Checkers Money Market kiosk, it is required that either a South African Barcoded ID, Passport or copy of either be presented for each person who will be travelling in order to complete the booking process. It is a condition of airlines that the names on either of these documents match exactly to that of the booking details in order for a person to board a plane and as a booking agent Checkers must unfortunately ensure that any booking it completes abides by these conditions.

In the interest of customer service, the details of your experience will, however, be brought to the attention of Divisional Management for investigation. One on our representatives will be in contact with you shortly.

Kind regards
Devon Currie
