I decided to go to Checkers Hyper in the Kolonnade shopping centre today, to my horror was suspected to the most horrible customer service I have had in a long time. After standing in a queue for close to 30 minutes, I decided to change the ice cream tub I had in my trolley as it was probably close to melting to a frozen one in the freezer. As the customers that were in front were still finalizing their shopping, I went to the freezer which was a stone's throw away only to find the customers behind me being served with their groceries being passed over mine. I called the supervisor who did not attempt to restore calm over the very rude and unruly cashier. After waiting in a queue for half an hour, this was not an ideal way to end my shopping. I will not be buying at any Checkers Hyper anytime soon and will rather pay slightly higher prices at other supermarkets which offer efficient queue control, professional cashiers, efficient management and most importantly a good shopping experience.
