Histamine Food Poisoning

I had a very scary experience last night. I prepared Yellowfin Fish I bought from Checkers and shortly after dinner I broke out in hives, over my face and then it started to slowly spread down my torso and after a while to the rest of my upper body. Hubby reacted differently, he had an upset stomach. It turns out it was mild food poisoning which is caused by slightly spoiled dark-meat fish like tuna, mackerel and bonito etc which can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hives, itching, rash and a burning sensation in the mouth. Thankfully everything turned out okay, but extremely disappointed in Checkers. I bought Dorado too which is in the freezer now, but scared to take a chance to eat it now.
