Green, molded Ham and Cheese Sandwich topped with Brown Lettuce!!!!

As an Employee I have 30min lunch a day. I took this 30 minutes to drive to my local Checkers (Flamingo) to go buy a sandwich for lunch. A plain and simple Ham and Cheese Sandwich which is R16.99 I asked the lady behind the counter if the sandwich was made today and she said yes. The Expiry date was today, 31 January 2024. On arrival back at work I opened the sandwich and discovered not only was the bread hard, green and busy moulding the ham was dried out and had brown lettuce. Calling the store Manager explaining this I was told to come back for a refund and a new sandwich. The problem I have is they don't realize the bigger picture. Not only can a person get food poisoning, the time, petrol and effort I drove out in my lunch is wasted now and I have no lunch today. Not to mention how many other people today bought this sandwich and didn't realize this until they start eating this? This is highly unacceptable and food and safety procedures are not in check. Extremely disgusted and waiting for reply on this review.
