Great Manager at Checkers Pineslopes

It isn't everyday you get to say something good about retail experiences. However today is one of those days. Checkers Pineslopes is my local store. I went in to buy ingredients for Chicken Pita's. Tahini is one of the key ingredients to a good Pita. I left the store and as I unpacked my trolley in the pouring rain I realized that the Tahini had not been rung up. Trying to dodge the rain and not get soaked I checked the till slip in the car and, yes the Tahini was not on the slip. I decided not to go back in due to the rain, but returned the next day to let the Store Manager know that I had left the store without having paid for this item. The manager on duty looked very surprised at me, and after pondering as to what action needed to be taken, said to me. "Take the money (R103.00) that you would have paid for this item and give it to a poor deserving soul" I was so surprised and moved, I bought a bunch of small items, bread, milk, cheese etc to the value of R500.00 and distributed to various folk that looked like they needed some sustenance.
