Grateful for Checkers Hyper's hostile 'lack of' service

At the end of a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Checkers Hyper, Arcon Park, Vereeniging, I am actually grateful for their absolutely horrible, rude and unprofessional behaviour and lack of service or care. It ended up benefitting us (my son in particular) as I didn't just leave it there.

Summary: My son (8) bought a completely defective toy from Checkers Hyper for R 100 with some of his birthday money. We approached them for assistance or even just a straight swap and spent almost an hour while our matter was handed from one to another and then eventually just ignored. We asked about it an also for my wife's phone back (which they took to the back, out of sight, because it has a photo of our Xtra Savings card on it) and were met with borderline hostility and told they can't help, so we can go.

I then contacted the USA based toy manufacturer directly and they ended up being very apologetic and sincere and sent my son a whole large box of their toys totaling about R 1 200.00 with a few much more upgraded than what he bought.

We are long time Checkers Hyper clients and it is literally my son's favourite shop, especially because it is always our first stop for his toys. He's got the truck, trolley, Sixty60 bike and rider, etc of Checkers. Not anymore...I know that my few thousand rands worth of business will not affect you at all, but principles are principles and your service is atrocious CHECKERS HYPER ARCON PARK. Your employees (especially management) need to go for some serious training in a variety of field. They can learn a lot even from some of your cashiers and that's just embarrassing.
