Formal Complaint Regarding Unfair Treatment and Poor Customer Service

Dear Checkers manager

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding an incident that occurred at Checkers in Centurion Mall on 24/11/24. As a regular customer, I have always expected fair and professional service, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing.

I had been patiently waiting in line for over 20 minutes to pay for my items. When it was my turn to be assisted, the cashier, Kaghatso, allowed another customer to bypass the queue and pay before me. The explanation provided by the other customer was that she had previously been in the queue but left to withdraw cash. Regardless of her reasoning, she had left the line, and it was unfair for her to be prioritized over customers, including myself, who were still waiting.

What made the situation worse was that Kaghatso did not provide me with any explanation or courtesy before assisting this other customer. Had she explained the situation to me, I may have been more understanding. However, the lack of communication and the blatant disregard for fairness was unacceptable.

To escalate matters further, I sought assistance from the manager, Charles, who not only failed to address the situation but stood by as the other customer began swearing at me. He did not attempt to calm the situation, mediate the conflict, or offer any resolution. His lack of action demonstrated poor management and a lack of regard for customer care.

As a loyal patron of your store, I am appalled by this experience. I expect your staff to treat all customers fairly and with respect, and for your management to actively intervene in resolving disputes when they arise.

I request that this incident be thoroughly investigated and that appropriate action be taken to ensure that such behavior does not happen again. I also expect a formal apology for the unacceptable service I received.
