Faulty Checkers brand refuse bags & bad customer experience
I bought 20 refuse bags Checkers brand from Checkers Castle Rock, Newcastle 294 store on the 18th of December. Unfortunately, the refuse bags had a factory fault. They are sealed everywhere therefore, they cannot be used to store waste in the ******* bin. I took them back, I drove all the way from Springbok to the mall which is +/-40 kilometers drive. I was refunded my money and I bought the other ones, same brand because I loved the Checkers brand.
I took the refuse bags with me and to my surprise when I got home, even these ones have the same factory fault!!! I went back to the store the next day. Unfortunately, I misplaced my slip as we had purchased drinks for the road. I went back to the store and I was relieved to see that we were served by the sale Consultant, Phindile. I showed her the refuse bags that they have the same fault as the other ones she took yesterday. She requested for a till slip, I advised that we misplaced it. She said she is unable to assist therefore, requires manager’s approval. We waited for a manager’s approval for over 15 minutes for a mere R31.99 item which was purchased along with items for R4348.18 for the Christmas grocery.
I was at the store yesterday so I find it totally unacceptable that we are treated like this for a Checkers factory fault!!! That Phindile didn’t even ask for a security to request the manager to come to the Kiosk desk to assist us. She just waited and we were expected to tag along on the waiting with no turnaround time as if we are at their mercy.
No communication or any hope. We just had to take the faulty refuse bags for evidence and left.
Checkers Consultants needs to be trained by Woolworths.
