Fairlands supervisory staff need training

Needing A4 paper I checked Checkers website and saw Typek at R79.99 with card and Sappi +1 at R76.99 with card both until September 1 so went to Checkers FX Fairlands.

Saw both papers on the shelf and they both had the price R79.99 with card underneath them. I picked up the Sappi paper and headed for the tills where I was charged full price of R82.99 with card. That's when the fight started.

A supervisor was called and I told them the website stated the price was R76.99 and was given the story that there is website pricing and store pricing and the price was R82.99. I said that the shelf price said R79.99 with card. They went and got the label and it showed they had put the Typek price against both kinds of paper. I told them that was misleading and was duly refunded R3 as they refused to entertain that the website pricing should apply. I was in a hurry and left.

Getting home I looked up the website and there is no label/banner/any indication that the price for the Sappi paper is a website only special meaning that legally the price is R76.99 with card in the store.

I fully realise that staff cannot be expected to know all the price changes, but what happened to "the customer is always right"? If a customer comes in and says the website price is this it means they have looked up the price and decided to to to your store instead of any other store to purchase the item. To be faced with incorrect and misleading shelf labeling and then to be fed blatant untruths from a supervisor over store and web pricing really irks.
