EXPRESS TILLS NOT SO EXPRESSINGLY FAST

On Sat, 26 October 2024, I went for some items to Checkers Virginia, Market street, and stood in line at the Express till. The queue was quite long, and upon viewing the cause of the hold-up upfront at the till, I realised that the cashier was taking her time assisting customers with their purchases and chatting away with other staff members. One elderly lady, having stood in the queue already for over 20 minutes, reprimanded the cashier tactfully by informing her that we were all standing in the line for more than 20 minutes, have things to do and get home and she is chatting away with other staff and customers when the customers' purchases are already rung up and completed. The cashier denied this upon which the elderly lady confirmed. Even customers behind me were beginning to complain in line as it is - as the elderly lady said - an Express till but we waited longer than the normal tills to get our purchases done. This happened at Till 17, Checkers Virginia. The cashier that was on duty on Sat, 26 Oct 2024, was on duty again yesterday, 28 Oct 2024 when I went to buy a few items. She was working slowly again.
