Expired Products

So I went to buy Groceries Sunday morning at Checkers Westgate and purchased one of the Tastic Rices of the world range of products and when I wanted to prepare the rice I noticed that there where mites inside a sealed packet, I checked the expiry date on the packet to find out that the product already expired in june but was still on the shelves available to consumers? I really think this is pathetic from a big chain store like Checkers.
