Expired goods at Checkers Springbok Plaza

On the 23rd of Feb, my fiancé went to do some groceries at Checkers. Amongst the grocery list was Cheddar cheese (Parmalat). On Sunday morning of the 25th Feb, he made breakfast using the cheese. After breakfast, when I opened the fridge, I was shocked to see that the cheese had expired. The expiration date was on the 14th of February 2018, the sell by date on the sticker was 21 February 2018, still shocked i checked when this cheese was bought and to my surprise, it was with the shopping my fiancé had done on 23 February 2018.

So this means that we have consumed a perishable after 17 days of expiration date, with this listerios going on. We are highly disappointed by checkers. Mind you, my fiance is very cautious of expiration dates but when he buys at Checkers, he doesn't really check as we trust them or rather used to trust them cz we can no longer trust them after this and the fact that we have consumed it makes it even harder. I mean this checkers has only been operating for almost 3 months and this is how they are negligent to say the least because the barcode, says "use by 21-feb-2018" a week after it's expiry date and 2 days after their alleged "sell by date" !!!!! Why was it still on the shelves??? How many more items have we consumed because of their negligence?

If they don't respond, we definitely taking this further because we have consumed it. We have proof of this as well just that ain't sure where to attach it on this review. Will definitely no longer be recommending checkers to anyone ever again.
