Duping Customers at Checkers
Recently, I purchased Twinkies from Checkers at 14th Avenue, Roodepoort. Sadly, only after eating two of these, it was observed from the packaging that the product had in fact expired. On more careful examination, it was also observed that a small sticker on the outer box which carries the expiry date was also partially removed so that it will not be apparent to the purchaser that the product so purchased had in fact expired. One would think that if an item was being sold, the consumer ought to know that the item is cheaper, if so, because it is past its expiry date. The managers authorizing this deviousness; and hence teaching the staff to be so; and to cheat customer;s are the abettors to boot. But then again, a fish rots from the head. I have personally noticed that there are many goods at this branch which are defective and items had to be returned several times before a replacement could be effected, alternatively a refund. In another instance, I complained about a member of staff who clearly gave preference to another customer in what was supposed to be a queue. The said member had no qualms about giving the preferential treatment even though the queue was not followed and also defended that customer for queue jumping. The manager promised he will get back to me. I am still waiting... and its about 6 months.
Be that as it may, customers need to be vigilant lest defective and expired food items are consumed because of super duping by Checkers!
