Don't Buy Eggs at Checkers Eastgate nor at Checkers Village View. The Eggs are Rotten.

Flotation test is the most common test to check the freshness of an egg.... Fill a pot with water and then place the egg in it. If the egg sinks, it is an indication that the egg is fresh and safe to cook. If the egg floats at the surface of the water, it means that the egg is rotten and it is not safe to cook.

I have a Checkers XTRA SAVINGS card and I do shop at Checkers Eastgate regularly. Over the past year many of the eggs I purchased were rotten so I stopped buying eggs at Checkers.

The other day I visited Checkers Eastgate as I needed to purchase dog food, cat food and chocolate cake (Checkers Eastgate has very tasty chocolate cake - you can buy them in individual slices). I go to Checkers Eastgate every so often for these chocolate slices.

Getting back to the eggs. I was pleasantly surprised to see a box of Nulaid eggs (Nulaid is the best quality in my opinion). I purchased the box of Nulaid eggs.

Got home did the Flotation test - the eggs were all rotten.

I had visited the new Checkers at Village View a few weeks earlier. A very nice store!! I did my grocery shopping for the week there including two large trays of Eggbert eggs - about 30% of the eggs were rotten.

Obviously Checkers does not check the quality of the eggs they sell. Eggs at Pick’n Pay Park Meadows are also of poor quality.

Within Eastgate, Park Meadows and Bedfordview there is only one brand and one store you can purchase quality eggs.

The brand: Nulaid The store: Pick ‘n Pay Bedfordview.

I don’t buy eggs at Woolworths due to their high price therefore I am unable to comment on Woolworths eggs (I do buy the following items at Woolworths: organic bananas, chicken and Yoghurt).

DO NOT BUY EGGS AT CHECKERS, PERIOD!
