Don't buy appliances from Checkers- youllregret

I purchased a damaged iron ( Genesis steam iron) on the 02nd of September at Checkers Hyper Centurion and tried to return it on the 03rd of September but Checkers fails to refund me and they say they have to speak to Verimark first. How is this because I bought it from them not from Verimark and their staff is rude
