Disgusting and pathetic Security Service- Incorrect Arrest Made due to their Negligence and Ignorance

Checker Hyper Pavilion! My father was locked up today for not paying for an item. He was not shopping in checkers at all.. My mother who was shopping inside checkers was stopped after paying for her items by the security.. She produced her receipt.. The security her that 1 of the items was not charged for and told her to pay at the cigarette counter. At this point my father approached the entrance of checkers and my mother told him to please pay for the item on her behalf at the cigarette counter. He was then approached by security and they insisted that he stole the item, as he was standing next to the trolley. My father constantly tried to explain that he did not come into checkers or buy anything at all and it is the first time he is entering checkers, this was blatantly ignored by the security guards. My father was then taken to the back control room of the security and was questioned and the police was called.. My father was embarrassed and threaten as well as handcuffed and arrested in public and taken to Westville police station. He is a 54 year old type 2 diabetic patient and was then kept in the holding cell for hours before being released on bail. This is extremely pathetic and disgusting.. Surely the security within checkers could of obtained the camera footage to see that he was not shopping at their store nor was he see in any ilse picking any goods before harassing embarrassing and tarnishing his reputation apart from getting him charged for shoplifting. The cashier or my mother who was a shopper should of been questioned relating to the box item that was not charged for in her trolley... This is very disappointing the security staff should be trained properly and better standards and processes should be in place.. Before jumping the gun!!
