Goodmorning my name is Ernest Williams,I'm in a desperate situation,03 may 2022 I received a call from checkers HR at my workplace which is superspar bredasdorp WC and they asked me if I would like to come and work for them as a butchery manager in bredasdorp.i am a butchery blockman by trade and there Salary offer was much better than I was currently earning.so the regional manager for checkers Mr Werner Taljaart phone me and arranged a meeting.ps I had a ******** record in 2003 for shoplifting when I was much younger and naive which I app**** to have expunged in 2016 and my name was subsequently cleared for which I received a document stating this.after my interview with the regional manager he was quite impressed with my credentials and experience in the butchery industry and he told me on watsap that I can resign at Spar and start checkers toe 1june 2022 as a butchery manager as the current butchery manager was retiring.i did this as advised by the regional manager for checkers and worked out my notice at Spar in may as i was going to work for checkers in june.i have all correspondence with checkers regarding this matter on my fone,I saved all correspondence with them.Now they have informed me that they will no longer employ me as I had a ******** record in 2003 but I had my name cleared in Pretoria and paid a fee for this to be done,so that I don't have any record anymore.i even had an affidavit done at police station to prove this but checkers still refuse to honor ther promise for employment to me. I even went in to Checkers Bredasdorp on two occasions to check the Receiving of butchery products as part of my job with them. I had to drive to Checkers Swellendam to meet with various other managers of Checkers at my personal expense. My previous job can't take me back as the already employed someone in my place. Now I am jobless with no income and my family life is in turmoil as a result of this .I have a wife and family to support and I need help in this regard desperately.i am 53 years old.
