Disappointed

I write this with great disappointment. On Friday 29 June 2018 I was shopping in Checkers at the South Coast Mall in Shelly Beach. I was in the toiletry isle when my 3 day old Cell phone was ****** out of my hand bag!

I payed for my goods and then went to ask one of the ladies that was working at the coffee station who I could ask for help as my cell phone was ****** out of my hand bag. Her reply was "at the door" pointing to the managers office door.

I went to the manager of Checkers and asked him please to help me and look on his camera system. Well the response was most defiantly not one that I was expecting . He refused to help me say he cannot look at his camera system. He did not even get up from his chair.

The attitude of some of the staff and management is absolutist disgusting . I went back to checkers a 2nd time, after having blocked my cell phone, to see maybe if it was on the floor or under the shelves. I asked the manager again for him to please look on his camera, but to no avail.

Only after I had gone to the Center Management offices and they phoned the Checkers Manager did he then look at the cameras. Or so he said. This was now some hours later, so who ever stole my cell phone is long gone. I have still to date not heard a word from him.

I was tolled by other business in the South Coast Mall that this has been the 3rd cell phone ****** in the month of June in Checkers store.

I am absolutely discussed by the way that staff and management handled the whole situation on Friday. I will never ever go back to Checkers. They are rude and very unhelpful and this is not the first time that I have had a bad experience with this same store.

I phoned the Checkers customer care line today Monday 2nd of July, the lady that I spoke to told me that Checkers can not be held responsible for my cell phone. After speaking to her I felt like I was the one at fault! She did not in anyway make me feel any better about the situation.
