‘Customer Care’

To whom it may concern

I went today (21st July 2020) to checkers St. John’s in Pinetown to do shopping, I noticed the Jacobs coffee promo which read.

Both for R115 Jacobs konrung/Classic Instant coffee/ cappuccino sachets x10 assorted

I also confirmed with one of the employees about the promo and asked if I buy x1 200g coffee I get another one and pay R115 for both she rep**** yes mam! When I got to the till I Alde’s the cashier if the discount went through for the coffee she said yes it’s R115 for 2, bare in mind I took x6 200g of Jacobs. When I got home I checked my slip and saw I was charged R99 each and paid R600 for coffee. I called the store and Fikile put me through to ‘Customer Care’ the phone was put down in my ear after I held on for 27mins. decided to take a drive back to Checkers and see a supervisor or manager that could assist me with this ridiculous price issue.

The manger was absolutely RUDE!! He did not even greet when I introduced myself to him, let alone give me his name when I asked. His facial expressions and body language was totally pathetic and he made no eye contact with me while trying to explain my issue he answered a call while I was speaking to him and treated me like I was invisible. I’m totally concerned about this type of behavior coming from a ‘store manager’ while I was standing there waiting for his response he said please bring back my stock....where is my stock.....I said excuse me thats no way to speak to me I’m a customer and I have an issue! Please bare in mind I purchased this promo for a friend that resides in Pietermaritzburg. I also took a picture at 3pm to show my fried this awesome promo and I tried to explain to the ‘ store mananger’ While standing at the ‘customer care desk’ one the employees said I’m so sorry about this mam and you are not the first person to complain about the promotion....I does state assorted and that’s not the customers fault!!

I felt very humiliated and embarrassed as there was another customer also waiting speak to the manager and she heard everything!! For a manager he was very rude and dressed untidy with his shirt hanging out his pants!! Before I walked off I did tell him I will expose checkers on hello peter he’s response please do go ahead!! So I will do just that!!!

I WILL NEVER EVER SHOP AT ANY CHECKERS AGAIN!!....because I realize that’s how they treat customers and their staff!!
