Continued ***ual Harrasment at Checkers South Coast Mall

The grocery store should not be an unsafe space, and it most certainly should not be the staff of that establishment that make it one. I was at the Checkers in South Coast Mall, Shelly Beach this afternoon, when my sister was ogled by a staff member. He went out of his way to stare at my sister’s behind and try to catch her eye, but instead caught mine. Knowing he’d been caught, he quickly walked away. This is is not the first incidence in which I or my sisters (the youngest of whom is 13) have been made severely uncomfortable by male staff members at this establishment. It’s a sad day when people are so unafraid to lose their jobs, that they go out of their way to objectify and boldly leer at customers. Quite frankly, it is unacceptable and *****s the entire experience of shopping there. There needs to be efficient, severe, policy-based consequences for ***ual harassment at Checkers, and your establishment should not be a safe space for misogynistic, pedophilic men.
