On 05/12/2024, I purchased a Lancewood cheese from Checkers Dihlabeng Mall, only to find it molded—despite the best-before date being 07/07/2025. This raises serious concerns about food safety standards at the store.

After reporting the issue to Checkers' customer service, I received only an apology and was told to return the cheese for an exchange—despite the store being 36km away. I requested that they deliver a replacement, as I was not at fault, but the representative refused. Later, the branch manager promised to deliver the cheese, yet I’m still waiting.

The real issue here is not the delivery but how food safety violations are being brushed off. Selling expired or compromised dairy products poses serious health risks, including foodborne illnesses, and should not be taken lightly.

I urge everyone to check their dairy products carefully when purchasing from this store. This is not just about my experience—this could happen to anyone. Food safety must be a priority, and accountability is crucial!
