Client harassment
Good day<br> I am not sure who the responsible party is but I feel like I need to bring this under someone's attention. I entered a competition to win a R2000 shopping voucher at Shoprite on Monday. I kept on receiving SMS's and emails so I thought I would give it a go as we do all our monthly shopping at Shoprite. I had to answer a whole bunch of personal questions and gave my contact details as that is how one was supposed to be informed if one win this voucher. Ever since Monday I have been harassed by cold callers wanting to give me quotes on insurance, life policies ect. They also don't only phone once but at least 5 times in an hour. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. If I enter a completion for Checkers I do not give permission and authorisation to give out my personal details to external parties. This is ******* and *********. For being such a large grocer that prides itself on ethical practise this is really disappointing and very bad taste advertising. <br> <br> Regards<br> <br> Ms B Potgieter
On behalf of the Checkers supermarket chain, I would like to empathise with the unfortunate experience you have had as a result of entering a SA rewards competition.
As discussed with you, the Checkers chain has no relationship with SA Rewards, nor does any of the Shoprite Group's affiliates have any campaign associated with SA Rewards. Checkers will never present any promotion other than through its own company channels and social media pages and would not advise any consumer to provide their details to a unknown third party's pages and organisations.

We can confirm that Checkers does investigate such cases when brought to its attention.
