Checkers takes your money with no goods and keeps your money

Placed an order online on the app Checkers 60 to the value of R1148.07 on the 14th December 2021. The order was canceled from their side due to a technical problem. The monetary value was debited off my bank account. After being pushed from pillar to post and excuse after excuse I told that the money will be credited back into the apps wallet within 3 hours. Then I could request it to be refunded back into my bank account. This never happened and after calling their help center again I was told that they will reverse the amount and I must contact my bank to check. My bank stated that there is no such reversal from Checkers but a debit that went off my account on the 16.12.2021. After numerous checks with the bank the situation remained the same. Checkers told me it can take 3 to 5 working days to happen. It's now been a week since and they have not refunded my bank account. I have been pushed around by them as if I'm bothering them and they doing me a favor to get MY money back. They repeat themselves over and over with the same stories. Now I'm told to get a bank statement ( costs over R80 online PDF )as proof. So I ask them for proof from their side that they reversed the transaction from their side to the bank( can not provide it) so I can send to bank.

This is absolutely ridiculous and such inconvenience for a customer and a matter of principle that Checkers takes your money without the goods and a whole week passes by. They show no urgency in giving back my money. What will happen to me if went shopping and walked out without paying for goods to that value?

Imagine if that was the last money that I had for this month and went a week without anything.
