Checkers Service and Products
Yesterday I went into checkers to purchase close on R800 worth of items; the items were packed into were faulty which were faulty, when I pointed this out to a manager/assistant manager who had interrupted the lady cashing up for me to obtain a signature. Showing him how the bags had no loops on the one side so you could carry them and when you put a hole in them to give you a grip they ripped along the seam. He informed me that, 'that is how they had arrived from the suppliers'. When I pointed out that he always had an excuse as this was the third time in less than a month, I had dealings with him and asked him what his name was he walked away. The name tag he was wearing said he was Norma which was decidedly wrong unless he had had a *** change! I asked the staff for his name and was told it was Eric.
1. Out of the four bags of shopping, I had three ripped right down the side in this manner. Inevitably as I am charged for the bags, it is your responsibility to make sure they are up to standard and quality assure them? 2. Is it normal for senior staff to interrupt a cashier when they are serving a customer, surely the polite thing to do is to set an example and wait until the cashier finishes dealing with the customer before interrupting her? 3. Besides the bags breaking the packer had packed a hot roast chicken with plums and chocolates. 4. The chicken was so dry it was barely edible, surely if your paying R69.99 for a chicken you can make sure it is moist and palatable? Service such as this is unacceptable, and surely senior staff are there to assist!
