Checkers Outdoor Ballito Maladapted Manager

On 29 April at 11:30am I walked into your Checkers Outdoor store looking for a lamp for load-shedding. I was assisted by a person that asked if he could help me. I explained that I was looking for the round lights that one pushes on to switch it on, or any type of lamp you can use in case of load-shedding.

The assistant then took me to the Magneto type lights and that was not what I was looking for. I then thanked him and said I will browse the store. After having walked through the whole store I found what I was looking for. The Eurolux lamp for R199.

The assistant then appears out of nowhere: probably embarrassed that he forgot to show me these lamps. I then asked if I may please have a look at them out of the box, specifically the Eurolux and then the Lumaglo. The assistant said no problem and opened both for me to have a look at them. I know the Eurolux was the better known brand but he said the Lumaglo had a better battery. I thanked him and said I will take one of them but first wanted to look at your cadac cylinder prices.

I then went to look at the cadac cylinders and some other stuff. When I was done I went back to the lamp stand and took a Lumaglo which I am now really upset that I did: as I should have taken the Eurolux. I get to the till and the manager, an Indian guy shouts at the assistant standing 20 meters away in front of everyone in the store, who helped me the following words:

"Did He take the one he opened" How rude. Then the assistant replies "No" and then low and behold the manager shakes his head in disgust as to say I am a bad customer. Where did you get this person? And the manager calling me "he" without making any eye contact, This manager should rather be making coffee in the office than deal with humans. I am appalled regarding his behaviour. I am also placing this on Hellopeter and on your Facebook page.

No manager has the right to treat a customer like that. To add injury to insult the fantastic Lumaglo does not work. I charged it for 10 hours as per the instruction on the box and then switched it on. It shined for 20 minutes and died. I charged it again for 8 hours and switched it on and this time it worked for 10 minutes then died.

So here is what is going to happen now. You are going to send that miserable, rude, lacking in human communication skills manager in his car to my address with two (YES 2) R199.99 Eurolux FS276 Rechargeable LED Emergency Lights 2w Product ID: ***7 Lamps to compensate for the absolute disgrace of his attitude towards me in front of everyone in the store, and he will apologize for his rude behaviour face to face. I will return him his non-functioning useless Lumaglo.

I am utterly displeased that someone like this can be made a manager and finds it acceptable to embarrass customers by shouting and shaking his head at them.
