Checkers Northmead ****** Manager VUSI who abuses his power

Checkers Northmead Square- HORRID Treatment from (training) manager VUSI! on the 15th of June, I went to the store after work and proceeded to do my shopping, I came across a special which was R34.99 for a pack of country fair chicken 400grams of which I took 5 packs of the chicken. to my surprise the cashier rings the items at R44.99 I then ask her if those items will be reduced once I swipe my Xtrasavings card, which I did and the items were not reduced. I then told her that these items were advertised for a lesser amount, the cashier then called a till packer named Thombile to check, she didn't know where the chicken packs were. so I left the till and walked with her, before she removed the board displaying the special. I took a picture of the special and where everything was situated (to validate my case). we then went back to the cashier and she verified that the grams were correct and that the brand is correct, that was when she called the manager named VUSI to load the discount, that is when the issue started. Vusi came and inspected the special and the items to be purchased. and insisted that the special was not for the items I bought but should have been for the nuggets, (which I didn't buy) he then asked me to show him where the special was, I then again for the second time left the cashier with all my goods and proceeded to the fridges it was at this point VUSI told me that he cannot sell me the products advertised for the price but would rather give me nuggets as that what the special should have said. I refused, that's when he got aggressive asking me if I am stupid! and if I can read- to be frank I have 2 Masters with multiple diplomas and feel that to be such an insult. furthermore I asked him who is the manager because on his name tag it says Trainee manager, to which his response was that he is the only authority in that store and there isn't anyone above him! and as long as he is there I will not get the chicken at the displayed price... to my disappointment I asked him to please reverse all 4 boxes of chicken as I was not prepared to buy it anymore, he agreed. when we got to the till, the cashier asked him what was going on, he responded to say that he will void the items, to which another manager names MUSA came to the till, he asked VUSI something and VUSI responded to say lokhu koolie kuthatha ithuba, (which roughly translates to this koolie is taking a chance )to which the 2 gentlemen standing behind started to laugh. never in my life have I ever been so embarrassed and humiliated. to add insult to injury VUSI then took a personal call while laughing and asking MUSA to the void... please provide an email address for me to forward the pictures that was taken prior to this incident escalating. I would like 1. a formal apology from VUSI in the presences of MUSA and the cashier 2. the chicken at the price that was advertised 3. what action was taken against VUSI for the arrogance and racial disrespect 4. confirmation that VUSI will be trained accordingly with the rights that a consumer is protected by.

in this difficult time, where the country is fighting so much, COVID- 19 I don't think racial slurs and abuse of power should not add to the distress of checkers loyal customers, to be frank I pass many PicknPays and Spars, to be disrespected by your managers
