Checkers Moreleta Plaza Horrible Management!

Experiencing the lockdown is stressful for many South Africans and the last thing a consumer wants to worry about is not being able to buy consumables at the end of what is still considered a work day for many people working from home right now.

I went to Checkers at Moreleta Plaza yesterday at 17:37 under the assumption of the store still being open to the public due to the signs outside the store clearly indicating “18:00” as it’s closing time. I drove into the parking lot just behind another gentleman who got out of his car literally seconds before me and he proceeded to the doors of what seemed to be an already closed store. Standing outside my car, I watched to see if this man would gain access to the store before I proceeded. He did and I thought that the store was merely rationing entry as per regulations currently. To my surprise when I get to the door I am informed by the security that the store closed at 17:30. I then asked the security that their notices be changed accordingly as the signs were still on display outside indicating that the store closes at 18:00. I also asked to speak to the manager (Sizwe) to inform him that the security on duty allowed another customer in just before me. His responses were that he could not do anything about it and that perhaps the other manager on duty let him in.

I find this treatment appalling, especially since I do most of my shopping at this store on a very regular basis. It is absolutely disappointing to see how another customer receives preferential treatment without any just cause and Management does sweet ****** all to rectify such mismanagement!
