Checkers malvern bakery

As a resident of the queesburgh area close to checkers malvern I frequent the branch very often...so this review is not based on a once off experience but over multiple experiences with the same disappointing results. I understand that it's checkers and five star quality is not expected however the bakery seriously needs to be jacked up, and perhaps even health checks should be done on whether this is safe for consumers. Specifically the bakery, not breads, rolls and pies (savory) but the sweet side, cakes, biscuits, tarts etc. everything in the sweet side is way past it's expired date or stale as cardboard, except from the doughnuts which are replenished daily... every single time I have tried the bakery sweets has been disappointing. Bought a cake for my sister in laws birthday, couldn't even stick a candle in it and almost needed a chainsaw to cut it. It was so stale that it was just thrown away. Bought one of those bar one choc squares for my lady, same result pathetically stale, bought one of those giant cookies the other day, when I held it up it bent over without breaking, terribly stale and past it's date. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has this issue. I certainly hope that checkers resolve this very promptly because honestly, I would rather travel the 200m to pick and pay's bakery at this point.

In another issue at checkers malvern, unrelated to the bakery but this at the deli... they have these ready made salads and dishes kept on ice... one of the staff from behind the deli just washes there hands in the ice basin over the ready made foods and their dirty hands water is stirred into the food and then they carry on as per normal as if nothing happened. This is absolutely disgusting and unclean, how is it acceptable for someone to wash their hands in food, Sis!! Health department take notes!
