Checkers mall of Africa out of stock

I went to the checkers hyper at mall of Africa this morning and it seems like people weren't in the mood to work. So many shelves were left empty. I spent over R1200 and couldn't even get those little plants because they didn't have. I asked if I can come back to collect another day and the lady said the promotion is over today. How can you run a promotion and not have stock of the items? Shouldn't stock be kept till after the promotion is over? Unacceptable Checkers.
