Checkers looks after the *********
I cannot get a Checkers rewards card because some ******** has already used my cellphone number. I have had the same number for at least 15 years. So it appears to work this way: anyone can walk in off the street, give a cellphone number and get issued a card immediately. No checks are done, no ID given, no questions asked. Now I come into the store and a kind lady at the till asks if I want to get a card. Yes please. Sorry, your number is already in use. I have my phone with me so they can call me, see it’s actually my phone, disconnect the other person and load me. When the other person tries to use their card, it’s been cancelled and flagged on the system for ***** - this person can then be questioned as to why they are using someone else’s number. But NO! I am the one treated like a ********. No-one can help me at the store - I must call their call centre, I must scan through my ID and proof that the number is mine - and no card for me until I comply. Why don’t they ask this information from the ******** instead? Now every time I buy at Checkers, the teller must ask another customer for their card so that I can get the discounts. Why do we support and protect the ********* and leave the hassle with the innocent? Checkers has disappointed once again!
