Checkers Kwena centre poor condition
Checkers Kwena centre Good day, I am writing this message out of sheer frustration with the Kwena Centre store. Bear in mind I am very well experienced with running a FMCG retail store, I was employed as a senior branch manager manager by one of your competitors for 15 years in a very large store in the Clearwater mall. We do a weekly grocery shop and on average spend between 1500 and 2000 per week in this store. the last couple of weeks the store has been going backwards, this morning we were in the store at about 9:15. The entire shopfloor is full of merchandisers packing shelves and trolleys blocking the aisles, it was so bad that we actually left our weekly shopping and went to Spar. My wife was pushed out of the way twice by your staff, once by a grocery merchandiser and once by a butchery staff member. the butchery shelves were dirty and we saw meat packs that had leaked onto shelves and dried up. a lot of areas in this store were empty or out of stock completely, I approached a manager, unfortunately I forgot his name but his nametag said admin manager. I raised my concern with him on our way out, he was at the very first till point. It felt like he was not concerned about my query as he just said he will call another manager, not offering to take any of my details or even try and apologize. Out of sheer frustration, I told the gent that he can transfer the message to the other manager as I am not interested in repeating myself again. We ended up leaving our shopping at the fruit and veg section and left to go to Spar. I understand it is weekend and month end but this store was never like that when Vimlan was there, since Vimlan has moved I have not seen the new manager. Vimlan used to be on the floor and front line all the time keeping his store running smooth. The store looks tatty and dirty with a lot of out of stocks. basic items are nowhere to be found, the fruit and veg section was poorly stocked, the butchery looked terrible, general grocery items were also poorly stocked. I havent been able to find any Terbodore coffee pods for over a month now, after making a lot of enquiries, i ended up contacting Terbodore directly who then advised that the local Spar and Pick n Pay also stock their items. Unfortunately this morning I got to point where we were forced to go to Spar and spend our money there. I was blown away by the Spar to be honest, all shelves were beautifully stocked and their butchery is on another level and not a single merchandiser in the way, up your standards in Kwena centre please guys, we all know that you have cut throat competition in the area and if this poor standard continues the community will shop elsewhere. If you would like to verify if I am being truthful about my experience, check out your CCTV as I walked out of the store at 09:43, I was wearing a beige cap backwards with a black rolling stones shirt, blue shorts and marbled black and white crocs. I really hope you guys get the store back to what is was under Vimlan's reign.
