Checkers Jean Avenue - Feel like a burden to the Deli

I realize it is better to write objective reviews when you've taken time to calm down and reconsider exactly what has happened.

Earlier today I went to Checkers (Jean Village, Centurion), as I've been doing for many years.

Making my way to the Deli, to buy a quick snack as I'll be on my way tomorrow I was quite surprised at how busy the place was. However arriving at the Deli I was the only customer standing there.

Inside the Deli area there were 4 ladies, not a single lady helping a customer and the one lady cleaning the floor. I looked their way and said "hello". This was inored, I thought perhaps they're busy but they now know I'm standing there.

Again I said "hello, could someone please help me. They spoke with each other, ignored me, and started "acting like they're busy with something. Again I thought, ok now they definitely heard me.

A third time, this time admittedly agitated I said "hello, could someone PLEASE help me, if you're not too busy".

This time a lady came to help me. I asked her "mam, I asked three times for help, and those people standing there ignore me, why is this?". The lady was not able to answer, I can understand how this would be uncomfortable, I remained silent for a moment and then looked at her and said, "mam, please understand from a customer's point of view, I am not asking them to do me any favors, I'm simply asking to be served in the deli". Clearly now she understood that I was a human, where-after she rep**** don't be bothered by those ladies.

Though I appreciate that she actually responded, which is often difficult during disagreements, with a disappointed customer this does not essentially address the issue.

This type of behaviour from staff in a customer service position is truly not acceptable. The only reason I go to this Checkers and have been for years is because I'm disabled and live in the ocmplex right next to it, had there been other options perhaps I would have stopped going there a long tie ago as it's not a once off thing, this is the first time I am writing about this specifically. Similar barriers are experienced in the bakery section, the fish section, though at least sometimes there's one lady at the fish section who is really pleasant.

I believe at this Checkers specifically there is a problem with valuing client's, essentially I can chose to spend my money at the spar just two blocks down the road, OR the Pick n' Pay just on the other corner.

Feeling like a burden is truly not fun, especially the day before Christmas.

I sincerely hope this complaint is taken seriously and do hope that your staff enjoy a pleasant Christmas day.
