Checkers, Hyper & Sixty60- Poor Customer Service, quality control and more

Checkers Hyper & Sixty60 app

I have been using the Sixty60 app since July last year and in general I do not have complaints, products readily available, good quality and excellent service.

However since the Checkers Hyper in Brookside Mall has been rebuilt & opened; we noticed that our orders were now coming from the newly built store instead of the one we had no issues with.

This is when it all went downhill. Product availability became an issue & this store did not carry as many of the personalized/ready made products as the other stores which some items you would think should be in stock since this store is a Hyper.

More & more issues popped up. Here & there products were either expired / short dated plus food health hygiene safety controls (regulations) are not adhered to. A cosmetic product was supp**** without a cap & no safety seal that is not only unhygienic but also not sure if the contents was still what it should be. Ready made salad rolls, etc were hand picked, more than 1 placed into a plastic packet by someone. They were dry, rock hard meaning it was not exposed to air, possibly insects, and other contaminants. These items should have been packed for safety & freshness.

After raising this with the Sixty60 helpline; I was told that if queries are not raised within a ser number of hours those queries will not be attended to and that products such as ready made food must be returned to the store. This defeats the whole purpose of Sixty60 in that people who live alone, have hectic schedules, are without transport rely on the Sixty60 service. In addition to this; the customer is not afforded the opportunity to choose which store they prefer to get their products from since the system automatically decides for the customer, even if the store is not the closest one to you. Well this is what the Call Centre Agent told me.

I emailed photo's of expired products through and it has been days and no response/ feedback or even a courtesy call.

I repeat that I love the Sixty60 Service. It just needs tweeking and the customer should be able to choose their store of choice and more care is needed when it comes to ready made food and the range should be expanded to be more diverse. It comes in handy especially with loadshedding, etc.

Customer Service representatives should be more careful how they treat their customers. Even after indicating that I was still unhappy and requested for my complaint to be escalated I still am waiting for a response.
