Checkers has heart!

We tend to judge supermarkets by how low or high their prices are, the availability of products on their shelves and the service one gets at tills. None of these really speak to the "heart" of a certain group?

In our country people with disabilities are often ignored and most businesses do the mere minimum to accommodate them. Very few of them have "heart".

My 75 year old sister has been diagnosed with cancer and has chosen not to be treated. Her 50 year old son has a mental disability and she is making final arrangements for him to be looked after when she has passed.

We contacted the Checkers group to ask if they would put together everything he needed monthly and deliver the groceries. Without any hesitation Suzana Gomes of Checkers at Springs Mall agreed. Note that this is not something that they normally do. Together with her charming team including Sharm, Phindile and Jacob, they render this service monthly. Our family would like to thank the Checkers group who has given my sister peace of mind in helping with the care of our family member. This kind gesture demonstrates that to Checkers, customers are more than nameless people who spend money in their stores! Checkers has HEART!
