Checkers Family store-doesn't care

The 3rd of April I was shopping in Hyper Tokai with a friend and my two kids. My 3 year was on my right arm and pulled at a shelf which broke very easily. The shelving may very well have been broken prior, unlikely that a 3 year old could break a solid shelf. I put my left hand to stop the items from falling and the shelf managed to cut my left hand to the tendon which I had to get stitches for as well as an operation. As I was racing through the store I asked the shop assistant for the first aider on duty who he advised me was on leave for the day and he carried on not assisting me. They looked into the case and would not even let me see the footage. They claim no negligence, I was not able to identify the staff member who told me there was no first aider on duty. I was able to produce a receipt for electricity purchased at the store and the incident happened a few minutes after as well as the doctors bill I had to see immediately. I went into this store uninjured and left having to have an operation which was costly medically, financially and day to day. Hyper could care less.
